Prior to retraining to be an occupational therapist I worked in the voluntary sector for around 15 years. In 2011 I retrained to be an occupational therapist and worked at a London hospital. I now lecture at London South Bank University on occupational therapy and occupational science.
I am fortunate enough to be able to combine my interests in occupational science and gender in my research. I am undertaking a PhD and my current project is working with those who define as trans, non-binary or genderqueer and exploring the how engagement with places, activities and objects can enable, or otherwise, the expression of gender identity (see Research page for more information).
